Creamy Pap and Morogo (African Leafy Greens)

Method

1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium pot.
2. Add the salt and gradually sprinkle in the maize meal while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
3. Reduce the heat and cover the pot.
4. Simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pap becomes smooth and thick.
5. Add butter if desired and mix well.
6. Serve hot.

Method

1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
2. Sauté the onion until soft and translucent.
3. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
4. Add the chopped tomato and cook until it softens.
5. Add the morogo and stir well.
6. Pour in the water and season with Aromat, salt, and pepper.
7. Cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the greens are tender and most of the liquid has evaporated.
8. Stir well and adjust seasoning if necessary.
