
Method
1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium pot.
2. Add the salt and gradually sprinkle in the maize meal while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
3. Reduce the heat and cover the pot.
4. Simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pap becomes smooth and thick.
5. Add butter if desired and mix well.
6. Serve hot.
