Pap Sushi (Pilchards or Wors)

Ingredients

 Pap base ,1 cup maize meal,1½ cups water (plus 1 cup for paste) ,1 tbsp butter ,1 tsp salt .Filling 1 tin (400g) Lucky Star pilchards in tomato sauce, 1 carrot, cut into thin matchsticks o ½ green pepper, thinly sliced lengthwise o Salt & pepper to taste • Dipping sauce o ¼ tin (105g) Lucky Star chakalaka (mild & spicy) o ¼ cup mayonnaise • Optional garnish o Sesame seeds

Method
Cook the pap

Mix TMLT Super Maize meal with 1 cup water to form a paste.

Boil 1½ cups water, whisk in paste gradually.

Cover and cook 20–25 minutes until pap pulls away from pot sides.

Stir in butter and salt, then cool slightly.

Prepare the filling

Remove bones from pilchards (optional). Warm slightly or use cold.

Season with salt and pepper.

Sauté carrot and green pepper until softened but still crisp.

Serving Suggestions:
Wors Sushi
You can fill it with wors instead of sprinckle it with sesame seed you can sprinckle it with biltong powder.

Pilchards Sushi
You can fill it with Pilchards and sprinckle it with sesame seed
